PUBLIC ACCOUNTABILITY INITIATIVE

Inside San Bernardino County’s Corruption System

For seven years, I served as the San Bernardino County Auditor. During that time, I witnessed how corruption quietly operates behind policy, budgeting, contracts, and political influence.

This platform exists to expose how the system works, who profits from it, and how the public can recognize it in real time.

Why This Platform Exists

The Problem

I have been the San Bernardino County Auditor for the last seven years. During that time, I have seen in extreme detail what most people already know or suspect. Our County government has become extremely corrupt.

The Foundation Analogy

If you replace the roof on a house with a rotten foundation, it might keep the rain off of your head for a while, but it would only be a matter of time before the new roof cracks and you’re back where you began.

Mission

The purpose of this website is to replace the foundation. The only way that can be done is if the public understands how the corruption happens and how to see it in real time.

Public Participation

Introduction

I have been the San Bernardino County Auditor for the last seven years. During that time, I have seen in extreme detail what most people already know or suspect: our County government has become deeply corrupt. The elected officials you see as your representatives aren’t really the source of the corruption —they’re a symptom of it. Voting people out doesn’t fix the problem, because the root cause remains. If you replace the roof on a house with a rotten foundation, it might keep the rain off your head for a while —but it’s only a matter of time before the new roof cracks and you’re back where you started.

The purpose of this website is to replace the foundation. The only way that can happen is if the public understands how the corruption works and how to recognize it in real time. There’s a popular idea that politicians should be like NASCAR drivers —they should wear patches showing who their sponsors are. Since they don’t, this website aims to be the next best thing. I will show who is buying influence in our county government, what they’re getting for their money, and how much they’re spending.

This is a brand new website, launched in May 2026, so we don’t yet have a lot of content. But I will be adding to it daily, and I encourage others to contribute as well —either through the blog for discussion, or through the Contact Us page. If you have documents or video to share, please do.

A Simple Question — And What It Cost

For three years, the inner workings of San Bernardino’s administrative shifts remained obscured behind layers of bureaucratic jargon. Truth SBC began with a single leaked internal memo regarding the ‘Liability Management’ program.

What followed was a trail of paper—over 12,000 pages of public records requests that tell a story of intentional obfuscation and financial realignment at the expense of community safety.
